Control Union and its sustainable apparel history.
Control Union Certifications is a global inspection and certification organization. With its head office located in the Netherlands, Control Union operates offices in 60 countries with more than 100 offices.
Control Union was one of the earliest certification bodies in the textile industry. Originally it developed its own certification standard called ʻEKO Sustainable Textileʼ in order to enable the advancement of organic cotton in textiles. Later this standard was one of the programs that was eventually adopted into the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
REMO is a global movement inspiring people to discover value in their once-loved garments and embrace sustainable fashion. Our favourite threads no longer need to end their life as landfill. REMO aims to close the loop and inject new life into used fibres.,
Old garments might get frayed, stained with adventures and scarred by life, but they also hold the imprint of rich experiences. They have travelled the world and each of their threads carry a bit of the soul of the individual who wore them. And if these threads carry such stories, we should not let them go to waste.
